Cohousing for Couples
Couples make up a big part of many intergenerational cohousing communities like ours. That’s because cohousing offers a lot of benefits for couples that are hard to find elsewhere. These include:
- Enjoy meaningful social connections with neighbours, without sacrificing privacy—perfect for couples seeking companionship and mutual support.
- Access shared amenities like gardens, workshops, or guest suites, which reduce costs and create opportunities for collaboration and fun.
- Many cohousing communities share responsibilities like landscaping and maintenance, freeing up time for travel, hobbies, or relaxation.
- Participate in group meals, activities, or events that keep life social, active, and purpose-driven.
- Live in a supportive, interdependent environment that can adapt to changing needs over time.
Cohousing isn’t just where you live—it’s how you live.
People around the world find that living in a connected, collaborative community supports a more independent, engaged lifestyle than traditional housing. From spontaneous shared meals to knowing someone’s always nearby to lend a hand, cohousing makes it easier to thrive—on your own terms, and with others by your side.

Why we chose our next home and community at Compass Commons
Compass Commons came at just the right time and in just the right place for us. We wanted to be closer to family and friends, but also craved meaningful connection with neighbours and a strong sense of community. The idea of sharing time over a meal, having spontaneous conversations, and just enjoying everyday moments while still having the privacy we value was exactly what we were looking for. Co-housing gives us the freedom and inclusion we longed for, along with a lifestyle full of new experiences, enjoyment, and purpose – right outside our door.
