What is Cohousing

A cohousing community is an intentional community, started, designed and managed by the people who will be living there— everyone has a say in how the community is managed.

It’s a place where parents can get a break from child care and where empty nesters can reconnect with the younger generation and stay young-at-heart. It’s an opportunity to live a lower cost life. You share day-to-day expenses – from hot water to the Internet. That means lower bills per household. And, you share the chores of keeping the property beautiful, freeing up lots of time to have more fun.

In essence, it’s a chance to live an easier, more fulfilling life. We call it life in the heart of community.

Perhaps that sounds a little over the top, but that’s been the experience of thousands of people across Europe, the US and right here in Canada. As you look into cohousing further, you’ll see that this is true.
