It’s about time
“Time”. It is a word you can spend or keep, lose or save, need more or less of, and it can be both right and wrong and long and short. It’s constantly and continually beginning and ending (some would say that’s impossible, but ask a wordsmith). It both passes and stands still (but there is no physicist here to argue).
It’s our time
March 18, 2024 marked a significant milestone in the Compass Cohousing journey. It was the day the land purchase and sale closed, a testament to the collective efforts and commitment of our langley cohousing community. (That’s a lot of c’s!)
And it is a busy time as we move from the design and development phase to the dynamic marketing and construction phase.
The Real Estate Disclosure document is in the final stages, preparing us to advertise units for sale in the open market. Lark Group, our construction partner, is finalizing the last phase of the tender, confirming and clarifying the final bids from numerous trades.
With a cost-per-square-foot price on the horizon, the remaining units are set to be in high demand!
Details are being worked out for our building permit, and we will start construction soon. It’s high time!

Before construction starts, we are hosting an onsite celebration for International Cohousing Day.
Many communities in the U.S. and Canada are planning open houses, tours, and other festive events.
Compass Cohousing is hosting a drop-in gathering from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the site location at 6644 203 Street, Langley, BC. (There is a transit stop right there!)
Signs of the time
Create your own cohousing sign of the time and bring it along with you on May 11! A local Langley photographer will be on hand to take some photos for posterity (and social media marketing).
